ESD pallets and containers
ESD protection with FACH-PAK packaging
The abbreviation ESD comes from English and it means "electrostatic discharge". We come across that type of discharge in everyday life, for example when we put a sweater on over our head which results in electrified hair. The above is called electrostatic friction, which leads to unpleasant discharges in the form of very slight electric shocks. The build-up of static electric charges is a common problem during the storage and transport of electronic goods. Even a small spark can initiate a voltage spike on electronic equipment which can cause damage to the products. Fortunately, we are not doomed to such a scenario thanks to the use of ESD-sensitive components and elements in transport and storage. FACH-PAK offers ESD containers and pallets, which protect products against uncontrolled discharges.
Why are ESD products usually black?
All containers, transport platforms and ESD pallets supplied by FACH-PAK are usually black. This is because conductive carbon fibres are produced during the manufacturing process. They protect against the discharge of electronic charges and the transported products are safe. Standard plastic packaging is not suitable for use as packaging material for electrical equipment. Therefore, it is necessary to store and transport ESD-sensitive products in specially designed containers, carts and pallets from FACH-PAK.
How and where to use anti-static plastic products?
Euro containers, transport carts and plastic pallets offered by FACH-PAK are also manufactured in ESD anti-static version. Euro containers, due to their stackability have been selected for production in ESD to help save space in logistics and transport. Apart from the electronics sector, ESD containers are supplied to many different industrial sectors. The most popular are KLT containers used in the automotive industry. The offer of FACH-PAK also includes heavy-duty and lightweight ESD pallets as well as ESD transport carts and platforms.
